I like to describe my story as a journey from pills to plants.
My name is Adam Sud, and I am a 7th generation Texan and a Jew. I grew up eating burgers and barbeques, bagels and blintzes, and of course fried chicken on Friday nights. That was a tradition in my family growing up. I like to describe my diet as the Standard American Diet wearing cowboy boots with some chutzpah. I had great friends, played sports and had a great childhood.
However, growing up I struggled with my relationship to food. I can remember being a closet eater as early as age 10. I believed that there must be something wrong with me for wanting “bad” food so badly. I believed I was broken, and because of that I needed to hide this behavior from the world, so no one would know exactly how broken I was.
